Why Fall Is the Best Time to Replace Your A/C in Florida

In Florida, our air conditioners don’t get much of a break. After running through months of heat and humidity, fall is a good time to take a closer look at how your system performed over the summer. If your A/C struggled to keep up, needed frequent repairs, or is simply getting older, replacing it during the fall may make more sense than waiting for it to fail.

Avoid a Mid-Summer Breakdown

There’s never a convenient time for an A/C to stop working, but a 90-degree Florida afternoon is about as bad as it gets. Replacing an aging system in the fall gives you the opportunity to plan ahead instead of making a rushed decision when your home is already uncomfortable. You’ll have time to consider your options and choose the right system for your home.

Your A/C Just Made It Through the Toughest Part of the Year

Florida summers put HVAC systems to work. Long run times, high temperatures, and humidity can expose problems that weren’t as noticeable earlier in the year. Think back to how your system handled this summer. Was it running constantly? Were some rooms warmer than others? Did your electric bills climb? Did you have to call for repairs?

Those can all be signs that it’s worth having the system evaluated before another summer rolls around.

Take Advantage of Florida’s Milder Weather

Fall temperatures in Central Florida may not exactly mean sweaters and fireplaces, but we usually start getting some relief from the summer heat. That makes it a much better time to schedule an AC replacement. If your home has to go without cooling for part of the installation, it’s a lot easier to deal with in October or November than July or August.

Start Next Summer With Confidence

A new HVAC system can offer better comfort, reliability, and efficiency, especially when replacing an older unit. More importantly, taking care of the replacement now means one less thing to worry about when Florida temperatures start climbing again.

Not Sure If It’s Time to Replace?

An older A/C doesn’t automatically mean you need a new one. Sometimes a repair or routine service is all that’s needed.

At Folsom Services, we can take a look at your current system and help you understand your options. Whether your A/C needs service or it’s time to consider replacement, our team is here to help.
